Vancouver Rotary Foundation Presents $78,000 in Scholarships, Surpasses $1 Million in Educational Awards

The Vancouver Rotary Foundation awarded $78,000 in college scholarships to 24 Southwest Washington high school and college students at the Club’s annual scholarship luncheon at the Red Lion Hotel at the Quay on Wednesday, May 9. With the granting of the 2012 scholarships, the organization surpassed the $1 million milestone in scholarships distributed to local students.

The scholarships are granted by the Vancouver Rotary Foundation, which is the charitable arm of the Rotary Club of Vancouver. Many of the scholarships are made possible through endowments established by individuals. Additionally, the Vancouver Rotary Foundation’s Festival of Trees provides funds.

Scholarship winners were Johnna Gurgel, Ky Viet Ngo, Hope St. John, Connie Hu, Eveling Cabello-Ramirez, Ibette Valle, Kelli Daller, Kathryn DeVore, Katherine Miranda, Josey Sechrist, Tiffany Wood, Josh Ingebretson, N’Diya Pumphery, Tanya Gentry, Jessica Murray, Caleb Ogier, Dena Corby, Margaret Hodges, Dillon LeSieur, Ida Thomas, Gail Weeks, Morgan Parker, Oksana Klimenova and Linda Otton.
