The Vancouver Rotary Foundation awarded $79,000 in college scholarships to 21 southwest Washington high school and college students at the Club’s annual scholarship luncheon at the Red Lion Hotel at the Quay on Wednesday, May 21st. In 41 years, the Foundation has awarded more than $1 million in scholarships to local students.
The scholarships are granted by the Vancouver Rotary Foundation, which is the charitable arm of the Rotary Club of Vancouver. Many of the scholarships are made possible through endowments established by individuals. Additionally, the Vancouver Rotary Foundation’s Festival of Trees and club member contributions provide funds.
Scholarship winners were Molly Bosch, Paige Wilson, Mark Houston, Tim Teipel, Antonio Sandoval-Pinacho, Samantha Adams, Caitlin Bowers, Tamara Kent, Valentina Nguyen, Lauren Urke, McKayla Wixom, Cassie Bettis, Ilana Brown, Justine Hanrahan, Liliana Salazar, Richard “Reed” Norton, Charlene Shea, Christina Chen, Kathy Fockler, Jason Langley and Lauren Vanderkraats.
