The Vancouver Rotary Foundation awarded $96,000 in college scholarships to 24 Southwest Washington high school and college students at the Club’s annual scholarship luncheon at Warehouse ‘23 on May 23rd. In 45 years, the Foundation has awarded more than $1.5 million in scholarships to local students.
The scholarships are granted by the Vancouver Rotary Foundation, which is the charitable arm of the Rotary Club of Vancouver. Many of the scholarships are made possible through endowments established by individuals and fundraising by Rotary Club members.
Scholarship winners were Sean Murray, Bethany Whitten, Larsen Winger, Brenda Chavez Reyes, Karinna Aguas, Benjamin Sabo, Sean Flynn, Zakery Lehman, Miranda Dowler, Grace Warren, Aliyah Petersen, Christina Starks, Makena Kerr, Stevie Riepe, Rosalie Galloway, Nadia Borichevska, Jordan Hamilton, Sarah Givvines, Susy Wallace, Cristian Buzas, Bobby Smith, Marcus Hendrickson, Sydney Johnson and Devin Hicks. They will attend a variety of schools including Clark College, Washington State University, University of Washington, Western Washington University and Oregon State University.
